Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Dr Claire’s mobile practice is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' health care needs at home whenever possible.

Surgical Services: If your pet requires any surgical services Dr Claire will refer you and your pet to the most appropriate veterinary facility. In many cases this will be your local veterinarian; however Dr Claire is able to refer patients for specialist surgery when indicated. Dr Claire will ensure that she has explained the reason for and purpose of surgery and will be able to answer any questions you may have prior to referral.

Anesthesia: Dr Claire is unable to anaesthetise pets in the home. If anaesthesia is required for a procedure Dr Claire will refer your pet to the most appropriate veterinary facility. She will be able to discuss any pre-anaesthetic testing required, although she often recommends that be done on the day of the procedure. Dr Claire will be able to answer any questions and discuss any concerns you may have about your pet having an anesthetic.

Internal medicine consults: Dr Claire is a very experienced veterinarian who has been fortunate to work with a number of different specialists in the past. However, with complicated cases Dr Claire can offer referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and assists with the diagnosis and management of these patients.

Radiology and Ultrasound Services: Dr Claire's Mobile Veterinary Service is not equipped with Xray facilities. Any diagnostic imaging that is required will be referred to another veterinary hospital as indicated. Dr Claire can also refer your pet to a specialist facility if advanced imaging such as CT or MRI is required. Dr Claire can perform ultrasounds for pregnancy diagnosis and emergency stabilisation. She can refer your pet to another veterinary hospital if your pet requires

Vaccination: We use core vaccines that last for three years for both dogs and cats. Annual vaccination is still required in dogs for infectious canine cough (kennel cough) and cats for feline upper respiratory tract infections and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). A full physical examination is always performed prior to vaccinating your pet to ensure that they are healthy. We often pick up early problems with these routine wellness examinations.

Dentistry: Our physical examinations always include an oral exam. Good dental health in our pets is often overlooked and dental disease can have a surprisingly dramatic effect on your pet’s quality of life. If your pet requires any dental procedures they will need to be performed under a general anaesthetic, hence we will refer you to another veterinary hospital as indicated. Dr Claire can advise you on ongoing dental health care for your pet.

Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for measurement of haematocrit, total plasma protein, blood glucose, activated clotting time, blood smear examination, urinalysis and cytology. We can perform in-house testing for parvovirus in dogs and heart failure in cats. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for comprehensive blood and urine tests, histopathology and specialized diagnostics. Dr Claire can also access consultations with the laboratory’s veterinary specialists and pathologists if additional assistance is required to manage the case.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip implantation for permanent identification of your pet. Lifetime registration on the national microchip database is included in the cost, allowing you to ensure your details remain updated if you move house or change your contact details.

Pharmacy: We are able to dispense most medications your pet may need at the time of the home visit. Some medications may need to be ordered for your pet and we can arrange delivery in those cases. Additionally, we can arrange for medication to be compounded by a specialist veterinary compounding pharmacy to make it more palatable for your pet, or to ensure the correct dose is available. We have a limited range of prescription diets on hand. We are able to order any flea/tick/heartworm control, diets, shampoos to meet the needs for your pets. We also have a limited range of treats available for dogs and cats.

Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression. If your pet is diagnosed with anxiety or other conditions requiring medication to help improve their quality of life we can prescribe and manage these medications.

End of life care: We understand how important it is to make your pet comfortable as they approach the end of their life. We can provide palliative care in the home with a home hospice care program to ensure your pet can remain at home with you and have their pain and mobility issues well-managed.

Euthanasia: The meaning of the word euthanasia is "a good death". We can come to your home and ensure that your pet does not suffer and is with loved ones when the time comes.
