AnesthesiaAnesthesia:  Dr Claire is unable to anaesthetise pets in the home.  If anaesthesia is required for a procedure Dr Claire will refer your pet to the most appropriate veterinary facility.  She will be able to discuss any pre-anaesthetic testing required, although she often recommends that be done on the day of the procedure.  Dr Claire will be able to answer any questions and discuss any concerns you may have about your pet having an anesthetic.

Internal medicine consultsInternal medicine consults: Dr Claire is a very experienced veterinarian who has been fortunate to work with a number of different specialists in the past.  However, with complicated cases Dr Claire can offer referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and assists with the diagnosis and management of these patients.

Radiology ServicesRadiology and Ultrasound Services:  Dr Claire's Mobile Veterinary Service is not equipped with Xray facilities.  Any diagnostic imaging that is required will be referred to another veterinary hospital as indicated.  Dr Claire can also refer your pet to a specialist facility if advanced imaging such as CT or MRI is required. VaccinationVaccination:  We use core vaccines that last for three years for both dogs and cats.  Annual vaccination is still required in dogs for infectious canine cough (kennel cough) and cats for feline upper respiratory tract infections and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).  A full physical examination is always performed prior to vaccinating your pet to ensure that they are healthy.  We often pick up early problems with these routine wellness examinations.

DentistryDentistry:  Our physical examinations always include an oral exam.  Good dental health in our pets is often overlooked and dental disease can have a surprisingly dramatic effect on your pet’s quality of life.   If your pet requires any dental procedures they will need to be performed under a general anaesthetic, hence we will refer you to another veterinary hospital as indicated.  Dr Claire can advise you on ongoing dental health care for your pet.

LaboratoryLaboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for measurement of haematocrit, total plasma protein, blood glucose, activated clotting time, blood smear examination, urinalysis and cytology.  We can perform in-house testing for parvovirus in dogs and heart failure in cats. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for comprehensive blood and urine tests, histopathology and specialized diagnostics.  Dr Claire can also access consultations with the laboratory’s veterinary specialists and pathologists if additional assistance is required to manage the case.
